Gasteig Turns 25!

by Cara -

Since its opening in 1985, the Gasteig has become a center for cultural life in Munich. Home of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Richard Strauss Conservatory, the Volkshochschule, and the municipal library, the Gasteig plays host to many cultural events and festivals in Munich every year. The Gasteig is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this weekend with "Gasteig Elements" - the grand finale to end the anniversary year - and I'm happy to say that we will be a part of the celebration! Kicking off with an opening concert on Friday, July 22, the weekend will be comprised of more than 250 unique events that incorporate all elements of the Gasteig over the past 25 years. On Saturday, July 23 at 8:00pm and Sunday, July 24 at 5:00pm we will host interactive audio/video installations via BoinxTV in room 131. Attendees can participate in interactive games with cool visual effects based on our new Orientator technology that we recently integrated into BoinxTV. Visitors will be able to control various aspects of the game by interacting with large physical, but completely wireless, objects in the room. It's going to be completely interactive and totally powered by BoinxTV.

"We'll have several games that visitors can partake in at the event - from classic pong, to color matching, to a cool labryinth concept, and so on," says Florian Albrecht. "We want to engage visitors in advanced interactive video performance - it should be a fantastic time!" From classical orchestra, to cabaret and dance, to young rock and pop acts, the Gasteig's 25th Anniversary celebration has something for everyone! If you are in the Munich area this weekend, I strongly suggest that you check out the Gasteig - and of course stop by room 131 to visit us and play some killer interactive games! See you there!
