Unsupported Graphics Card
Black Export Issue

On some computers, exporting movies will result in an all-black video. On these computers, you can still use FotoMagico for authoring or presenting your slideshow live.

The issue is related to the ATI Radeon 7500 (sometimes also called M6 or RV200) graphics adapter used in these computers.

The following computers contain such a card built-in:

  • 15-inch PowerBook G4 Titanium DVI-Video out with ATI Rage M6 (M8592)
  • 14-inch iBook G3 with ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 (M8862)
  • eMac G4 with ATI Radeon 7500 (M8951 and M9150)

The card was also available separately so you might have it installed in your PowerMac.

Solution

If FotoMagico 1.8 detects such a graphics card in your computer, it will display a warning and guide you to this website.

With such a graphics card installed, FotoMagico

  • will play slideshows and let you author them
  • will not export your slideshow to a movie.

This issue can only be solved by replacing the graphics card or using another computer for exporting movies.

If you have purchased FotoMagico and were unaware of the issue, please feel free to contact the place where you have purchased your copy and request a refund.

If you purchased your copy at Kagi, read here how to request a refund.

Contact Boinx Software Sales if you need assistance in resolving this issue.
