iStopMotion : Animation for the Masses
by Frank - Friday, October 02, 2009 - Permalink
iStopmotion is one of the best (and easiest) animation applications I think have used. The interface is simple and the quality of the output is brilliant coping with video sources from iSight to High Definition digital SLR cameras. I have been using iStopmotion for five years and to be honest I use it in the same way each time it loads. I tend to keep the workflow simple, a digital camcorder connected to my Mac via Firewire and then simply hitting the red button to capture each single frame.
Boinx Plugin for Final Cut Pro

Final Cut Producer took a closer look at Boinx FxTiles, the collection of 3D filters and transitions based on FxFactory for Final Cut Pro, Motion, Final Cut Express and Adobe After Effects.
The transitions and filters that Boinx put together is a nice package. These transitions are great for videos with movement and action like dancing, sports, music videos and demo reels. Take a gander (nice southern lingo) at some examples. (...) The price is right @ $49."

"We have yet to find one Con with FotoMagico, it gives us everything we have ever wanted and then some. We cant say enough how great it is, and it deserves the 5/5 we are awarding it. As of this moment, FotoMagico is the best application I have ever reviewed."
The Kleper Report: "Simply amazing and amazingly empowering"
by Frank - Monday, July 20, 2009 - Permalink
The Kleper Report on Digital Publishing (Issue May/June 2009) reviewed BoinxTV:
"BoinxTV, the 2009 Apple Design Award winner, simulates a TV studio, with control of up to three cameras, for the creation of a wide range of live-production videos. This degree of personal control and expression is as significant as the introduction of desktop publishing, which provided the power of the press to virtually anyone. Now Macintosh users can produce high quality video programs live to disc, the Internet, or as a presentation. One person can be the producer, director, and the talent. Simply amazing and amazingly empowering."

David Sparks reviewed FotoMagico 3 for Mac Sparky and The Mac ReviewCast and was highly pleased:
The best compliment paid to this application is by the "official" photographers at the weddings I have participated in. They always ask me afterwards how I did it and they always want to know where they can get their own copy of FotoMagico.”

Creative Mac: BoinxTV

In his extensive review for Creative Mac, Kevin McAuliffe, found much to praise:
"If you do "live" broadcasts, BoinxTV is a program that you NEED to check out. What used to be a process that required alot of people, alot of time or both, can now be done by one person, which if you are running the show, that's a good thing, because you can put more money in your pocket on each and every job"

Allan Tépper reviews BoinxTV for the new PVC Pro Blog:
"BoinxTV can convert your Mac computer into a live video production studio. (...) If you use a Mac and need to produce a multi-camera shoot using up to three cameras, then you should definitely look into BoinxTV and determine whether it suits you.
