The Deadly Deaths: See The World

-

Nick Feisst from The Deadly Deaths, "restrained indie synth pop" band from Hamilton NZ, used iStopMotion to create the music video for the groups first single "See The World". There are nice pictures of the set and characters on his blog.

I'm using iStopMotion along with an iSight camera to do my movement tracking in the music video, and then using a digital SLR to take full resolution images.

Clay Nation by Max

-

Max is the son of Keith Martin, MacUser magazine's Technical Editor. Clay Nation is

the home of plasticine claymation animations by Max. [...] Stop-frame animation can take a long time, but it is a lot of fun to do. All you need is some plasticine, clay, blutak or something like that, a webcam of some sort, and a program for capturing each frame. I use iStopMotion, a great animation tool for the Macintosh."

Very cool animations, an awesome QuickTime VR of the Clay Nation studio and a podcast on animation.

Biowar

-

Achim made cool movie with the Bionicles and a twist. In the beginning it flickers a bit because he forgot to set the camera to fixed exposure and fixed white balance.

Music by the most excellent Paul Goodyear. (Visit Paul's website for more cool music.)

Michael Fox: "Making Still Photos Move"

-

With the broad acceptance and demand for video-type content, an increasing number of photographers, including those at leading newspapers and wire services such as the LA Times, San Jose Mercury News and Corbis, are expected to capture audio as part of their photo assignments. Sometimes you will see a photo slideshow with sounds recorded from the event the photographs depict." Mikes post includes nice tips such as where to purchase music for your slideshow and this great example: Mike Fox has thirty years photography experience in Europe, Asia, South Africa, and the Americas. Photojournalism work published in - Newsweek, La Monde, Houston Chronicle, PR Week, Gallup Organization, American Marketing Association, The London Evening Standard, Die Welt, Tribune des Fosses, Common Ground Magazine, Heinrich Bauer Publications.

Kevin Miller "Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia"

-

Peggys Cove

One more finalist from the FotoMagico Slideshow Showcase: Kevin Miller - "Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia".

Peggy's Cove is a favorite of many, including my wife whose family lived in Nova Scotia many years ago. We were able to return last summer and enjoy the beautiful scenes of this quaint and historic fishing village. The focal point is the famous Peggy's Cove light house. My son introduced me to The Digital Story many months ago. I recently listened to several of the podcasts on a road trip. I grew up with a black and white darkroom as a kid. In the last few years I have moved into the digital photography world and am quite fascinated by it. I just got my first digital SLR and am getting my feet wet with Photoshop CS2 and color management.
