Filmmuseum Vondelpark, April 13 - 20 -

For the ninth time, the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival makes plenty of room for the kids. The doors of the Filmmuseum in the Vondelpark will open wide for them on Sunday April 13th, Wednesday April 16th and the weekend of April 19th and 20th, 2008. Keep a close eye on the site in the coming weeks, because all the latest news about this fantastic AFFF / Kids programme will be shown there. 15th January, ZEUM San Francisco -

Zeum and Boinx are pleased to invite you to our "Introduction to Clay Animation" demonstration and workshop. This free 1 -hour event is designed for K-12 teachers of any subject who wish to incorporate the arts and technology into their classrooms through the magic of stop-motion animation. Discover the tools of the trade and hear about how students work in groups to negotiate the creative process and create their own short movies. After the demo, you'll have a chance to make your own animation.

The event will take place on Tuesday, January 15, from 3:30-4:30pm, at the ZEUM, a multimedia arts and technology museum for kids and families, located at 221 Fourth Street (at Howard) in San Francisco, next to Moscone Center, home of MacWorld. The Animators Studio at Zeum uses Boinx' iStopMotion via Mac technology.

At this year's BETT show in London, our friends from Cleveratom showed off iStopMotion at the Create at BETT booth. They were helped by students from King Harolds School: "As ever, King Harold School pupils were brilliant! Their enthusiasm, infectious energy and determination to succeed meant that the stand never had a dull moment", writes Hal Maclean. Digitalcreativity.org reports:

At the other end of the stand young people worked to demonstrate the brilliant iStopMotion animation software and the potential for using creative technology in the classroom. iStopMotion is so simple and easy to use, yet so powerful too. A wonderful piece of innovative software.
