Boinx Software is mentioned in the credits of a real movie! Wow! The film is titled "The Treasures of Long Gone John" by Gregg Gibbs and had its world premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas and will be shown at festivals around the world.

Gregg Gibbs writes: "For 10 months I used the software to record the execution of a large painting by the artist Todd Schorr. This footage is woven throughout the film and serves to tie together the story of an eccentric collector. The film is a celebration of creativity through art and music. I just wanted you to know that iStopMotion is excellent and the footage is mesmerizing." Totally!

The website for the film is made completely in Flash, so you'll have to go to the website an click on "View the Trailer" to see a couple of shots from the movie.

"After all the scenes and models were made, I began filming using iStopMotion and Apples isight camera. To try and keep a constant ambient light I used a desk lamp but for an unknown reason there is a flickering effect. After I had completed there were mainly things I'd like to have added time allowing. I would have really liked to have added a soundtrack as well as maybe a dialog for the characters." - Richard Bentley. To watch the movie klick here.

On a treasure hunt today in my office I found this pack of stickers Apple handed out at a WWDC in the 90s:

Letssee

Think different times, indeed. Of course, I had to stick one on our Intel iMac...

Roodolf

"This is a film that my partner and I created, both as a Christmas card and as an experiment to get to grips with the software. In addition to the obvious cinematic reference, the film features the newly opened 'Spinaker Tower', (Portsmouth, UK), a construction not without controversy and highly topical with our intended audience. Along side iStopMotion, we used FCP, Soundtrack Pro, Photoshop, Image Ready and iMovie. I am currently working with a number of students who are busy shooting stop motion films using your software. We have found the application to be extremely easy and intuitive, enabling students with little or no video/animation experience to create impressive sequences using both mini dv camcorders and digital still cameras." - Duncan Shepherd
