by Vera - Thursday, July 28, 2005 - Permalink
Munich, Germany - July 28th, 2005. FotoMagico, the slideshow application that provides photo enthusiasts with an easy way to make their greatest photos shine, gains huge speed improvements with the latest minor update to Version 1.2.4. It continues to receive high marks from professional reviewers: Robert Pritchett of macCompanion.com recently awarded it a 5-star rating: "There is a good reason why Boinx picked the magician’s hat as a logo for this app. It really is magic."

A huge small update for FotoMagico: Version 1.2.4 offers huge speed improvements with very smooth pan & zoom and new HD/H.264 Export. More Information...
Be also sure to get the high res demo slideshow if you have a big screen and a fast machine. It is worth it!
What was supposed to be a minor update turned into a very substantial learning experience. The team got many new insights into Mac OS X threads and OpenGL. So, it took a while to get out of the door. Now we can focus on the next major release...

Publishing Podcasts on .Mac

It is still quite complicated to publish podcasts. So. I've written up a tutorial on how to do it with a .Mac account so that people might be able to figure it out.
By the way, you can also use iVeZeen to record video podcasts.
"Much much sexier than Stop Motion Pro"
by Oliver - Tuesday, July 19, 2005 - Permalink
Ususally, we don't compare iStopMotion to competing products. But if other people do it, it is much more credible. Found on the weblog "I Kill Spies": "Boinx iStopMotion is a super slick way to make stop motion animation extremely easily. [...] Much much sexier than Stop Motion Pro, which needed a Windows machine."
ADE Summer Institute, San Jose
by Oliver - Sunday, July 17, 2005 - Permalink

Boinx Software was invited to attend the vendor fair at the ADE Summer Institute in San Jose, CA. this week. I took the opportunity to meet with Apple ADEs and talk to them about strategies for using technology in the classroom. It was a fantastic and energising crowd (Technorati: ade2005). The vendor fair was an exciting event with many ADEs stopping by to express their enthusiasm about iStopMotion and FotoMagico. They were doing a number of interesting projects and I got to be able to help one group to get up a podcast.

Test Drive a Mac

Here is a cool idea for Apple Marketing: Even if they don't flat out offer Mac OS X for any Intel PC, they could use a time limited version of the Universal Binary System that runs on every Intel PC hardware to let people test drive it to lure them over.
