Boinx Software apps fit for Tiger

-

Finally, it's there. Everybody is looking to get their hands on Mac OS X Tiger. Boinx Software applications are ready when you are.

  • iStopMotion 1.8.1 released today
The release fixes a few minor issues with Mac OS X Tiger and improves stability for all users. In addition, new default preview movie settings deliver much better quality playback when previewing your work.
  • FotoMagico 1.2.3
The recently released update is already ready for Tiger. You can simply keep their current version installed when updating Mac OS X.
  • iVeZeen 2.0
Still running strong and compatible with Tiger is this little gem.
  • MiracleSight 1.0
The fun screensaver gets a new life with Mac OS X Tiger as Apple fixed a problem that was introduced with Mac OS X 10.3.5 and prevented MiracleSight from working since then.
  • Mouseposé 1.2
Updated just this week to Version 1.2, the free tool now works on Tiger and features a freely assignable Hot Key and a Menu Bar Icon for controlling the app so that the Dock Icon can now be switched off.

Watch the Buffet

I was representing Boinx Software at the recent Apple Teacher Institute (called "Lehrer-Kongress" in Germany) in Weimar where I shot this time lapse of the Lunch buffet being set up and destroyed using iStopMotion. There were two workshops about animation with iStopMotion held by Apple Distinguished Educator Michael Fromm and the attendees loved it.

FotoMagico in iCreate

-

A german language short tutorial has been published in the german March 2005 edition of iCreate. Check it out at your local news stand. It is a fairly recent addition to the Mac magazine market and had sort of a rough ride the last couple of months. It is an interesting concept, targeting Joe Average iLife User.

The article, although missing from the Table of Content has come out quite well and will let beginners get up to speed in a very short time.

Mouseposé 1.2: Now a Menu Bar Icon

-

Mouseposé 1.2 is available from our servers. As requested by most of the users, you can now switch off the Dock icon and use a Menu Bar icon instead. Also new in this version the hot key is freely assignable, so that you can use those precious F-Keys for different purposes.

And, of course, it has been updated to work with Mac OS X Tiger.

Sam Downie interviews Boinx Software's Florian Albrecht

-

At Macworld in January, Sam Downie did an interview with Boinx Software's Florian Albrecht for Inside Mac Radio. Due to changes in their team, it was never used, so Sam now posted it to his website: "Hear my interview with Florian, from Boinx Software. live from Macworld Conference & Expo 2005, from San Francisco. Hear all about their great apps released at Macworld SF2005."

UPDATE: The link above is now broken while Sam will be relaunching his web site. We will update when we have the new URL.

UPDATE: The link is now fixed and points to a nice webcast page.

Macworld: FotoMagico - It's Magic

-

Tom Penberthy writes for Macworld:

Slide shows in iPhoto are perfect—if you happen to have a song that's the exact length of your show, and if image transitions happen to fall at appropriate beats. OK, that never happens. Enter Boinx Software's FotoMagico. Layer in multiple songs from iTunes, and set transition points so images change in time with the music.
