New Office: Google Earth data
Saturday, December 10, 2005 - Permalink
Mac-Essentials made me aware of the inofficial Google Earth Beta. Very interesting toy but dead ugly interface. I hope this changes for the final. Just for fun, here are a couple of Boinx Software Places of Interest:
Unfortunately, we seem to be in a "low-res" area with very old imagery. Is this going to be a status symbol moving into the future? A sign for a more or less desirable neighborhood?
Update: Just after I downloaded Google Earth, it was pulled from MacUpdate.com. You'll have to find it elsewhere or wait until it becomes officially available.
Update 2: In case you are interested: I found the following MIME types you have to add to your Apache's mime.types config file so that the download works properly on this website:
- application/vnd.google-earth.kml+xml kml
- application/vnd.google-earth.kmz kmz
