Preventing Video Lag
The biggest issue with Live-to-Stage is that the video signal from a camera might have a delay so the real Speaker on stage will be slightly ahead of his image on the big screen behind him. Some FireWire DV and HDV cameras have this problem as the video takes some time to be compressed in the camera.
On slow computers, it can also take some time to decompress the images before BoinxTV can use them.
Under normal circumstances, the delay on the computer will be one or two frames, the rest comes most likely from the camera.
Choosing a fast Mac and a camera with low compression latency will help to minimize this problem.
