BoinxTV Live-To-Internet

Invite The World

While saving your show, BoinxTV also outputs the final video to screen. This can be used to create a video stream for the internet.

"Live" becomes more affordable

Watching your live show on the Internet, people will never guess that your investment in equipment and staff is quite modest. In fact, BoinxTV is enabling many people to reach an audience "live" for the first time.

Increase your reach on a budget

A critical factor in your success is the ability to reach more people, while your budget gets tighter and tighter.  Internet-based live video platforms such as uStream, Stickam, justin.tv, and zaplive dramatically lower the cost of getting to your audience, and BoinxTV does the same for producing your content.

Easy to learn & easy to use

You don't need specially trained people and a huge production crew—everyone can learn how to use BoinxTV. This makes it economical for even small events to be netcast live, which allows you to increase your market presence.

Live to Internet

The video that BoinxTV creates in real time is output in real time on the screen. There are two solutions for getting this output live on the Internet:

  • Software
With Steve Green's CamTwist you can grab the output from the screen and provide it as a video source to the Flash based web services such as uStream and Stickam or to the Apple QuickTime Broadcaster. Watch the How-to to learn more about this method.
  • Hardware
With the hardware solution, the burden of encoding the video for streaming is offloaded to an external device or a second computer. BoinxTV provides the video in full screen mode on the secondary display. The DVI signal and the audio from the built-in audio output are fed into the encoder hardware. This creates a plethora of options, from conversion to SDI with a Matrox MXO or high quality encoding with the Adobe Flash Media Encoder on a Windows computer connected with a Epiphan DVI2USB device to a low cost solution with a Epiphan VGA2USB device and the web browser based flash encoders of the video platforms on a spare Mac mini.

What does that mean for you?

Broadcasters

BoinxTV's live output means you can easily integrate "effects" into all of your existing production workflow. You can bring in Skype and Twitter, or scale a video signal—now, with BoinxTV, you can handle anything that your existing equipment can not handle.

Video Podcasters

Recording your next show can be an event for your audience. With just a little more effort, people can watch in real time and even collaborate via Skype, Twitter, chat and more.

Teachers and Schools

"Just imagine what your students will be capable of, when they're empowered to reach out to the world in real time.

Universities

More than ever, science and research require real time conversations.  Don't wait for the next conference to reach your colleagues. Now, with BoinxTV, you can reach your peers, all over the world, to share important insights.

Organizations

Your message gets heard by a much bigger audience if they don't have to leave their desks or homes to tune in. With BoinxTV you can record while you netcast, so you can reach people in different time zones, and people can watch at their convenience.

Event Organizers

Dramatically increase attendance, and give your clients more coverage for their money, by reaching out to your audience over the Internet, and do this on a modest budget.
